Where Do We Go From Here?

Again we find ourselves
in our darkest hour,
in a struggle for power
Fueled by hatred and anger.
If we have no control of this fear,
then where do we go from here?

There are weapons of destruction
for obstruction of justice and peace.
Soon, we’ll be counting the decease,
cleaning up blood of the bystanders.
This goes on year after year
as our loved ones disappear.
If a solution isn’t clear,
Then where do we go from here?

They say history is repeating
and it’s the past we’re reliving.
With the future uncertain,
have we reached a point of no return?
We blame others, we blame systems
and we blame weapons.
But if we’re not blaming ourselves
and if we’re not being sincere,
Then where do we go from here?

No, this is not 1916 or 1961
this is 2016. However,
there are individuals who
know how to work the system
if the trigger is indeed pulled,
individuals who know how to play
the game when they roll their dices.
So, if we can’t change the system
or improve our atmosphere,
then where do we go from here?

You see, it’s people who run systems
and it’s people who pull triggers.
We decide what’s right or wrong
and where all things belong.
If by now this hasn’t been made clear,
then where do we go from here?
