If The Shoes Fit

If the shoes fit, would you
be happier stepping
in someone else’s path?

Would you rise up
from their shadow
And try to keep that
light from fading
Just to catch a glance
of the life you
could be living?

You would want to have
The picture perfect fantasy,
a life full of riches and fancy.
The world handed to you
right then and there,
With no worries or care.

But you will see that
their shoes won’t truly fit.
You’ll try to make it work,
but sooner or later, you’ll admit
that you can’t fully commit.

You wouldn’t want to be
Replaced with someone new.
It may be rough for you,
but there’s no easy way out,
So, live your life throughout.
