A Careful Wish
Be careful what you wish for,
Because one day you might get it,
The funny thing is, you might like it.
But then again, you could regret it
And then you’ll never forget it.
It could be just a simple wish
Whether it’s for a kiss goodnight
Or for a text saying “Hello.”
You could even meet your idol,
But who knows how that will go.
It’s up to you to make it clear,
So it doesn’t all disappear.
Be careful what you wish for,
Because one day you might get it,
The funny thing is, you might like it.
But then again, you could regret it
And then you’ll never forget it.
It could be a grand wish
To make it out to the big city.
Where you’ll be the talk of the town,
And see how it all goes down.
You’ll see beyond the glitz and glamour,
Beyond the lights and cameras
That nothing is as it seem.
You’ll need to have tougher skin,
If you want stand out and not fit in.
Because they’ll talk about you,
Until they’ve got nothing left to say.
Be careful what you wish for,
Because one day you might get it,
The funny thing is, you might like it.
But then again, you could regret it
And then you’ll never forget it.
It could be your only wish.
There’s no genie in a bottle,
The person you want isn’t a model.
You could wish for a better life,
Or just go out and live your life
And step away from the wishing well.
But sometimes, it’s hard to tell
If you’re heading in the right direction,
Or if you’ve made the right connections
To make your dreams come true.
